I often struggle with inflammation during menopause. Olive leaf is a supplement that helps me because it contains a high amount (Olea europaea) (standardized to a minimum of 20% it helps with candida albicansoleuropein).I use it right after waking up. I drink a whole cup of warm water, because of my stomach. I don't take it at night, because I could reduce the body's own anti-inflammatory activity during night sleep.olive leaf extract is also excellent for flu and viral illnesses.
I am still working off another bottle but was getting low so I ordered more....I really do think this, in tandem with hawthorn berries, help keep my ticker happy. I am high strung so have gone through a lot of trial and error, and I find this and hawthorn keep me on an even keel and can still do strenuous work at nearly 70 years old. Your results may vary, but I am sticking with this!! It is also good for cholesterol & blood pressure. Win-win!
Long story short I am a member of Consumerla.... I wanted some Olive Leaf Extract..in my case to help a bit with high blood pressure. Consumerla...rated this Swanson Olive Leaf Extract as number ONE, plus it's usually by far the least expensive brand. I just wish the capsules were vegetarian vs gelatin, even I'm not a vegetarian. Overall as to potency, a great third party review, and the price, these are GREAT.
I use this as an immunity supplement for UTIs symptoms. I take two if I feel an infection coming on and repeat that three times a day. It's working pretty well. I was happy to see 20% oleuropein which is the minimum recommended amount. I laugh when I see cheaper supplements with only 5% or so oleuropein because that's not going to do the trick. I will continue to buy the Swanson ones and they're a pretty good value.
This is a brilliant supplement, giving most of the benefits of extra virgin olive oil in a totally affordable pill that isn't damaged by oxygen like olive oil. Secrets of the Mediterranean diet are that Latins eat 1 1/2 cups of olive oil a week. This supplement has been shown over last 20 years to provide many or most of the benefits, (and with hardly any calories!) Many olive leaf extract products have a much lower amount of the active ingredient.
Olive leaf extract has also been shown to help lower cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Olive leaf extract is used clinically to stimulate the immune system and to combat bacterial and viral infections. It is the ideal formula for someone looking for broad-spectrum immune support and antioxidant protection. I am using for all above. And antiproliferative effect of oleuropine in prostate cell lines.
The Consumer Lab rated this olive leaf extract highly for its claims of active ingredient. Consumer Lab is an independent testing laboratory which provides scientific evidence and intelligent, thorough opinion. Thus, I feel confidence in taking this product as a high quality choice for immune support.
