Natrol Alpha Lipoic Acid, Time Release, @ 600 mg. works much better than other forms of Alpha Lipoic Acid, e.g. capsules. The main benefit has been a reduction in diabetic neuropathy in the feet. Within several weeks, all of the above symptoms disappeared -- no more feeling of numbness in the toes. The Natrol brand is rated as above average in terms of lab testing quality, so there is no reluctance to order the product again in the near future. And basically it works.

Bought Natrol because Source Naturals was out of stock. Comparing the 2 brands’ timed release formulation, Natrol is more worth it price wise. Functionally, they should be the same since I observed the same abdominal fat “melting” effect. Just that Natrol is double in strength so I need to break the tablet (600mg is too strong for me). Have tried 3 bottles of ALLMAX R+ALA, sadly, expensive and no observable effect.

In January, 2020, I had a sinus infection that took away my ability to smell and taste. I've been reading up on the things that victims of Covid have been trying to restore their abilities to smell and taste, and found a group of doctors who tried 600 mgs of Lipoic Acid daily on a group of 21 patients from 55 to 65 (I am 63) for six months. They were encouraged enough by the results to plan a much larger study in 2023. I went with Natrol because I've used their Melatonin in the past, it works fabulously well, and I like the company's quality. I've been taking Alpha Lipoic Acid for about a month and, while I can't say it's helped return my senses of smell and taste (yet!), I will say that the pills have calmed down my constantly-irritated sinuses to a point that I am very glad I'm taking them once a day, even if the pills are HUGE and, for me, rather difficult to swallow. Honestly, I should take a star off for the size of the pills, but I am so impressed by the way they soothe my sinus irritation that I'll leave it on. I will update in a few months to detail improvements on my smell/taste problem.
